An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person (Art. 4 GDPR)
Under the Règlement général sur la protection des données (RGPD), données personnelles always relates to a personne concernée.
A “data subject” is defined as an “identified or identifiable natural person”. A “natural person” is a human being—a living individual. This definition excludes: Dead people, Legal persons (e.g. corporations, charities, and other legal entities).
This means that data subjects include your customers, employees, users, contractors—or even just visitors to your website. All data subjects have data subject rights.
