Term: Lawfulness, Fairness, and Transparency
Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency” are three important principles in data protection. Lawfulness means that companies can only collect and use personal data if they have a good reason and if it’s allowed by the law. Fairness means that people have to know what is happening with their personal data and how it will be used. Transparency means that companies must be open and clear about how they collect, use, and protect personal data.
