Term: European Commission

The European Commission is the executive branch of the European Union. Its main role is to put the EU’s decisions and policies into action, and it also proposes laws that are later adopted by the European Parliament and Council. In addition, the Commission is responsible for determining whether other countries have adequate data protection laws before allowing the transfer of personal data to those countries.
